PageReal collects limited information needed to operate this website and respond to readers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
PageReal is responsible for the personal information described here. We are not publishing a postal address or a direct email address at this stage, so every privacy request, correction, and question reaches us the same way: through our Contact page, choosing “Privacy request.” It is the only channel we monitor, and it reaches the editorial desk directly.
Information you provide
- If you submit the Contact form, we collect the name, email address, reason, article URL if provided, and message you submit.
- We use that information to review and respond to your request.
Information collected automatically
- Like most websites, PageReal receives technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and pages visited.
- Cookies, web beacons, and similar identifiers are used by the third-party services described below. Those providers handle that information under their own privacy policies, not this one.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
PageReal uses Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and participates in Google AdSense. Google’s advertising service is loaded on the pages of this site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to PageReal or to other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- These services may also use web beacons, device identifiers, and your IP address to measure and deliver their services.
Your choices
- You can turn off personalized advertising from Google in Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of cookies used by many third-party advertising vendors at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the consent message Google shows on this site is where you accept or refuse advertising cookies, and where you can change that choice later.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so does not stop PageReal from working.
- To ask a privacy question or request deletion of a Contact form submission, use the Contact page and choose “Privacy request.”
How we use information
- To operate and secure the site.
- To respond to messages.

- To comply with legal obligations.
Why we are allowed to use it
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these lawful bases:
- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and understand the performance of the site, and to answer the messages you send us.
- Consent — where local law requires it before advertising cookies are set. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message supplied by Google through AdSense. The choice you make there governs the advertising cookies described above, and you can change it later from the same message.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep or disclose information to comply with the law.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages: kept while we handle your request and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we can recognize follow-ups and corrections, then deleted.
- Server and security logs: a short rolling period set by our host.
- Analytics and advertising data: retained by Google under its own retention settings and policies, not by us.
Where information goes
PageReal is hosted in the United States, and our service providers, including Google, may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, this means your information may be transferred outside your home country. Where that happens we rely on the transfer mechanisms our providers put in place, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, correction of it, deletion of it, a portable copy, restriction of or objection to certain processing, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise any of these, use our Contact page and choose “Privacy request.” We do not charge for this, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland and you believe we have handled your information badly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
If you live in California
In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers such as name, email address, and IP address, from the Contact form and from ordinary web requests; and internet or network activity, such as pages visited and referring pages, through the analytics and advertising services described above. We collect it for the purposes listed in this policy, and we do not collect sensitive personal information.
We do not sell the personal information you submit through the Contact form, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. The advertising and analytics services described above do receive information about your visit, and under the CCPA as amended this may be treated as a “sale” or “share” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You may opt out of personalized advertising using the Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info links above, and by blocking cookies in your browser. California residents may also request to know, delete, or correct their personal information, and will not be discriminated against for doing so — use the Contact page and choose “Privacy request.”
Children
PageReal is written for adults, including adults making decisions about their families. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information through the Contact form, tell us through that same form and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as PageReal adds features such as newsletters or additional reader services. The date at the top of this page changes whenever it does.
